A healthy & active lifestyle for all Draper Estate residents.

Every Thursday Afternoon from 5 - 7pm @Draper Cage (next to the Draper estate playground)

Draper Together is happy to announce the partnership with Coaching the Nation to fulfil a healthy & active lifestyle for all draper estate residents.

Multi-sports and the world-renowned sport of football coaching sessions are running on a weekly basis for your children. Sporting Draper Sessions is here to mesh all ethnic cultures and make our neighbourhood an everyday lifestyle experience of the Fifa World Cup. We ambitiously hope that bringing this to our community will allow us to be more social, healthy and fit. We also would like your child to have a well-balanced social life other than in the school environment and/or in the home. We continuously aim to bring ‘Draper Together’ and are excited about this upcoming new project.

Digital Draper

Free classes on basic internet and computer skills

Every Saturday from 10.30 - 11.45 & 12.15 - 13.30 AT Draper Hall

Digital Draper’s Tutor, Jason:

“I have been teaching locally in the Walworth area for over 12 years. Working with a lot of people of different ages and backgrounds who are often completely new to using computers. Time and time again I have had the joy of seeing people with a complete lack of knowledge and experience of how to use a computer begin to get to grips with the technology and eventually be able to exist in the digital world, sending emails, using the internet, purchasing laptops and even buying flight tickets! Essentially empowering people to stand up by themselves in a rapidly advancing technological world when otherwise they would be getting left behind.

The courses that I run are tailored to the ability and needs of the learners. Typical lesson content will be learning about email, the internet. Microsoft Word and Excel, social media, shopping and safety online and smart phones. And sometimes specific things are taught such as how to use Google Translate as a way to overcome language barriers. Learners always go away feeling happy and surprised with their newly aquired skills and don’t look back. “

DFMA: Draper Film & Music Academy

Inspiring the young people of the Draper and neighbouring estates through filmmaking and the performing arts.

Every Saturday at Draper Hall

DFMA Mission Statement

Thanks to several grants from Southwark Council, and the priceless work from the tutors and few volunteers the DFMA has grown exponentially and is presently holding its 4th annual course. DFMA believes that the performing arts give our young people a creative and inspired way to interact and grow in a nurturing environment. DFMA is a positive and constructive answer to the dramatic and profound changes which have affected the Elephant and Castle area in the past 5 years. Through developing its skills in filmmaking, music, animation and dance, the young local population is able to develop its identity and create a new sense of community which has been posed under threat by the new regeneration.

“An image can speak more than a thousand words”
Our students are developing their artistic creativity with the support of professionals who every Saturday afternoon for four months, come to share their knowledge and experience with different seminars. We work together aiming to empower new generations sharing knowledge about media and the students’ own creativity. We strongly believe in creating a sense of community and we develop projects that see younger people working with more senior residents in order to record the history that has created our present.
